This Tiger Represents A Great Negative To Print Photo Restoration

This Tiger Picture From A German Zoo In The 1950’s Represents A Great Negative To Print Photo Restoration

Before the digital era of photography, your film was your original image. A print from that image was simply a copy of that original. Therefore conserving that film, whether slides or negatives, is essential in preserving the best possible version of that original. Many computer printers and scanners on the market today, offer accessories which allow scanning of slides and negatives. These attachments, unfortunately are of a very poor quality. Carpathia’s scanning equipment, made by Nikon, (one of the most respected names in photography world-wide), is designed specifically for digital storage and enhancement of slides and negatives and has the ability to restore to amazing clarity and vitality, images you thought were long past saving. Send us a few and see if you don’t agree!

Camping In Massachusetts, 1963

Here is an original slide which was initially exposed incorrectly within the camera, (sorry Dad!). This is an example of an underexposed slide; not enough light entering the camera. These will appear very dark and occasionally discolored; often so dark it may seem as if no retrievable image would be possible. An overexposed slide will appear very light, being the opposite of underexposed. After an initial high quality scan and subsequent color correction, an amazing amount of detail may suddenly come to light.

Family Moments Restored

Years ago, when a slide such as this was first brought back from the photo lab it most likely would have been seen as a total loss and perhaps tossed into a box and long forgotten. Now, with professional digital scanning technology and artists who know how to handle it, these pictures are able to be preserved and enhanced. It almost seems as if you are stepping out of your neighborhood photo lab again with a newly developed roll of film, with images you haven’t seen in years.
